Yeah, sorry, I won’t make any more excuses.
I’ve been previously posting stuff like this over at my website - www.bullcityrecords.com - but I’ve decided to change things up a bit. I get long winded when I finally sit behind a keyboard and start typing this out, and as I went on and on over at the Bull City Records’ website, I figured I might as well just be typing all that over here. Keep the website to short and sweet stuff like here’s what’s in and new, or here’s some random update on random stuff; and reserve this for my longwindedness.
Annnyway, so here’s what’s been goin on…
I’ve mainly just been focusing on restocks, updating the shop and that type of fun junk. I’ve been overspending a lot again…on purpose though I think. I’m trying to bulk up some holes a bit - testing the ol’ theory “you gotta spend money to make money.” Yeah, I know it sounds lame and cheesey and all, but hell, why not try it out.
Honestly, it’s just an excuse for me to let myself spend too much money on getting in orders that I want to get in for myself. Yeah, so I’m selfish. But hell, I think I’m allowed to do that every now and then.
Actually, I would like to take this time to personally and publicly thank Mr. Bruce Springsteen for selling enough of his CDs/LPs in my shop to afford me to get in some Lazy Cowgirls CDs, Reatards LPs/CDs, Nikki & the Corvettes CDs/LPs, Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers’ L.A.M.F. Revisited LP, etc, etc. Ahhh, thank you. The list goes on….(but I guess you might have to check the webpage for that later.)
But for now, I really just wanted to share this.
September turned out to be a rather slow month, so I had a lot of free time to think and stare at the walls. A lot.
This prompted me to finally get a little motivated and do this -
LP Wall. DVD/CDs Shelf. New Release Shelf.
So that’s what I’ve been doing. I’ve also started working some more online angles. Posting LPs online over at eBay and old used stock on Amazon. I’ve been trying to brainstorm some ways to unload some of this stuff that’s been sitting around for a couple years. It’s actually kinda fun. Since I’m trying to focus a lot of attention on my webstore recently, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to advertise on eBay. I’ll list some LPs that are still in print and not-so-rare and then I’ll leave a link to the shop in the info section. Hopefully this way some kids that don’t necessarily have a record shop in their town will turn their eyes off eBay and into other avenues for finding stuff. Annnnyway. Just thinking up cheaper ways to advertise.
I should just break down and finally place an ad in Razorcake or MRR. I really do need to do that. I do love those zines, so it’d be cool to see an ad or two in their publications and it’d be nice to just plain support ‘em.
Anyway, I’ll close up for now.
Enough babbling.
Seeya!
